increasing! WA, QLD, NT and TAS organisations have expressed confirmation that they
would participate the TYAI group. This paves the way for TYA becoming a national
association.
September 2003
With the continued effort in
recruiting more members to join TYAI, the Central Organising Committee has last Sunday,
24th August 2003, formed various committees that will serve as TYAI's machine rooms for
planning and implementation of our first Thank You Festival next year.
Arrangements are in process
to hold TYAI's inaugural meeting sometime in early 2004 when more members will have the
choice of joining any of the above committees that they prefer.
June 2003
The recent trip in early June
2003 in Darwin and Perth of Becky Horton saw the opportunity for Thank You Australia Inc
(TYAI) to have branches in Northern Territory and Western Australia possible.
Becky spoke to a couple of
association leaders who expressed interest in the objectives of TYAI. There were
individuals who put up their names for information mailouts when she spoke at a lunch in
Casuarina Shopping Centre. This group meets every Tuesday and is being attended by
Australians and families of mixed ethnic backgrounds.
She was also interviewed on
air on June 3 by Judith Ventic, host of a multi-cultural Radio Variety Show aired every
Tuesday night at 104.1FM from 8.00pm.

Judith
with guests Becky Horton, Rodel Rasing, Ps Cesar Mangohig, PercyMinay and trainee radio
host Luchi Santer
In her three days in
Perth, she managed to introduce TYAI to a couple of associations who have asked for more
information. One of these groups will be putting the matter up on their next meeting
agenda for consideration. |
